How do I hang an artwork?
In today's blog post, I explain how to hang an artwork: starting with the tools and ending with the finished result.
Which tool is required?
Depending on the size of the painting and the nature of the wall, you will need the following tools:

- A cordless screwdriver for normal walls
- a drilling machine for load-bearing walls with reinforced concrete
- or a hammer for small paintings

You also need:

- a spirit level
- a folding rule
- a pencil
Positioning the artwork on the wall

Two people are needed to hang the artwork.

You hold the painting at the desired height on the wall. The second person checks the effect on the wall.

Then use a spirit level to measure whether the painting is hanging straight. If so, make a slight mark on the left and right of the top edge of the artwork.

From here you measure the width of the stretcher frame (usually 4 cm) downwards. This is the final mark.

The holes should be on each side of the painting. However, they do not have to be exactly accurate, since the painting is placed on top of the screws. Therefore, it can still be moved a few centimeters. Only the center cross (for large formats) should be considered.

Now it's time to drill. Each painting comes with matching screws and wall plugs. The appropriate drill is selected and the hole is drilled. It is advisable to suck up the drilled dust with a vacuum cleaner.

The dowels and screws follow. The screws are screwed in so that they protrude at least 2 cm from the wall.

Now the painting only has to be placed on the protruding screws and adjusted to the left or right as required. Finished!

Within Berlin it is possible for me to come by personally to hang up the painting with you.
